This complete main-level remodel was designed with everyday family life in mind. Located in Buffalo, MN, the home is accessible to the metro while boasting beautiful views and country charm, with cozy spaces and all the modern touches a family could want.

KITCHEN

We reimagined the kitchen layout to include a spacious island for prep and seating, while opening sightlines to both the foyer and newly added family room. Framed by substantial timber beams, the kitchen features custom cabinetry in a variety of colors, honed quartzite countertops, a time-worn tile backsplash, and vintage-inspired lighting for a welcoming, lived-in feel.

family room

Turning an old porch into a stunning family room was one of our favorite parts of this project. A stone fireplace anchors the space, while a shiplap ceiling with exposed timbers adds character and draws your attention upward. With expansive windows and an open connection to the kitchen, this space brings comfort, connection, and sightlines into stunning scenery outside.

DINING room

Previously closed off, the dining room is now open to the rest of the main level and defined by the same timber beams used in the kitchen. Vertical shiplap wainscoting adds character and personality to the space, and a wrought iron chandelier is a charming centerpiece to the space.

TV room

This inviting space is perfect for cozying up and unwinding for the day. Built-ins provide room for display and tucked-away storage, while barnwood accents nod to the timber features and rustic warmth present in the rest of the home.

master bath

We reconfigured the entire master bath, extending into the original living room footprint to gain extra square footage. A spacious walk-in shower includes dual shower heads, built-in quartzite shelving, and a custom barn-door style enclosure. Beautiful tile, custom cabinetry, and a new vanity bring character to the space while having the storage space for everything needed to start and end each day.

kids bathroom

A quartzite countertop with bold blue and green movement is the star and tone-setter for the kids’ bathroom. To let it shine, we paired it with neutral herringbone tile, polished cream subway tile, and rustic alder cabinetry. A built-in linen cabinet adds storage while the bathtub remains an essential kid-friendly element.

MUD ROOM

This small but mighty mudroom ended up being one of our favorite spaces. Deep green wainscoting adds so much character to the space, especially when paired with the rustic alder cabinetry. (And did we mention the horseshoe hooks?) With quartz counters, pedestal laundry units, a utility sink, and a built-in bench, every inch of the space works hard and looks good doing it.
